Docrafts Creativity Magazine Card. Not chosen for publication see it here first.

Hi, Happy New Year.

I was asked to provide some projects for Januarys Docrafts Creativity Magazine. This was one of them but it wasn't chosen for the publication.

INSTRUCTIONS.

1. Stamp the back section of the A5 stepper card with the flowers from the Moments of Faith stamp set in Silver. Emboss with clear embossing powder. Rub loosely over the stamped images with silver shimmer chalk. (You could use lilac, blue or pink if you prefer)
2. Take grey card and emboss it with the embossing folder. Cut to size and fix to the front lower section of the card.
3. Using 2 shades of grey card cut out two of the largest sizes from the nesting die and emboss the largest sized card the same as the front section.
4. Stroke the embossed sections of the embossed card with silver pigment ink & dry with the heat tool.
5. Layer the two pieces of grey card and add the made up cross from the decoupage set.
6. Add two strips of silver to the top and two to the bottom of the back section.
7. Stamp your Christening sentiment onto grey card using white ink and powder. Matt & Layer then fix to the card over the two top strips.
8. Take the purple rectangle from the decoupage set and add the christening sentiment from the sticker set. Mount onto DS foam pads and lay on top of the two lower strips.
9. Add the decoupage flower section to the front of the card.
10. Stamp out the cross with sentiment in white ink & powder onto grey car, heat emboss, cut out and add to the front of the card.
11. Using the silver glittered ribbon loop one end and glue to the card from one side up to the cross and from the other side across to the flowers.
12. Make two bows out of lilac organza ribbon and add to the front of the card.

TIP:  Use Anita’s 3D gloss to fix your ribbon to the card. It’s also great added to the tips of the ribbon to stop them fraying. I added gloss to parts of the decoupage for extra shine.

Docrafts Creativity Magazine Card Project.

Hi & Happy New Year Everyone.
I was asked to provide some projects for Januarys Docrafts Creativity Magazine.

I really enjoyed making this Easter card.

Above shows the way I stamped the doves for a section of the background on the card.
By overlapping at a slightly different angle it gives a funky dimention to it.

You can also view the instructions and more photos of this card on the Do Crafts website and in my Gallery. www.docrafts.com/TD1

INSTRUCTIONS.

1. Take your dove stamp and stamp in yellow all over some white card.
2. Emboss with clear holographic embossing powder.
3. Stamp loosely over where you’ve stamped before in a darker yellow and emboss in gold.
4. Trim card and mat it up with sage green card, wrap with green raffia and stick flat onto A5 card.
5. Cut out two long rectangles of yellow card, one darker than the other.
Cut one slightly smaller so they layer up.
6. Emboss the smallest rectangle before sticking to the card.
7. Take some sage green card and the darker of the two yellow cards used previously to create two smaller rectangles. Again one embossed and layer on top of each other.
8. Place the printed sentiment on top of that.
9. With the flower nesting dies cut out the four largest flowers in 2 alternating colours.
10. Layer them up and slice down one side where it tucks behind the sentiment.
TIP: The bit you cut off can be used on the corners if you wish.
11. Mat and layer the Easter sentiment with matching card.
12. Stick a dove sticker onto card cut out and pop onto card over flower and larger sentiment.
13. Pop a tiny bit of glitter glue onto the dove for an eye.
14. Punch out any small flower in gold mirri-board make curled using an embossing tool.
15. Pop flowers onto card taking note of embossed pattern and decorate with gems and glitter glue.
16. Take ribbon and make a bow add to top of card.
17. Take the same ribbon and make three loops for the two corners and pop underneath.
TIP If you don’t have enough gems use half gems and half glitter glue in the flowers.

Docrafts Creativity Magazine Card Project Take a Template

Hi & Happy New Year Everyone.
I was asked to provide some projects for Januarys Docrafts Creativity Magazine.
Below is one I made for the Take a Template section.
I used the Forever friends Winter Wonderland range as I felt folk should be more aware that they aren't just for Christmas Cards. The clever designers didn't include anything  'Christmassy' as such it's just snowy and fur coats which can be used in cold weather. Lets face it in the UK we get a LOT of cold weather.

Instructions to make this card are in Januarys Docrafts Creativity Magazine.

TAKE A NESTING DIE AND...

Imagine the two shapes above are pictures you want to layer up or down
(pyrimage invertage or similar)

First you cut the two pictures idetically with the largest die.

Then you alternate the sizes on each one as shown.

You're then left with cutouts as above and you have a larger piece like a frame which you disgard.

When you layer them up the holes are hidden.

Just make sure the last one has enough pads beneath it all the way down.

If you don't have a picture to do this to but have some pretty coloured card you can glue them flat like this and put them through the big shot etc with an embossing folder.
The above result had it's edges coloured with cats eye chalk before I glued it together.

Halloween Brooch

I made this brooch for a friend who loves the cartoon movie 'Nightmare before Christmas' and the colour green. So I included two charms of the main two characters from the movie plus some green and pumpkin coloured beads as well as the gunmetal and silver.

Jack is a skelton so for a couple of the strands I created some bent bone like shapes to fit the theme.
The girl, Maggie,  stitches herself back together hence the hand made hand and Jack has a ghost dog hence the paw. The whole thing is meant to look like a confused mass as Jack is confused about Christmas and the Oogi Boogie man has lots of bits which spill out of him.

I really enjoyed making this. I made a brooch for my scottish hairdresser too with a comb and scissors charms on it. He loved it and said it will go on his sporran. Lol. I forgot to take a photo beforehand though.
